The Free Review

Den Frie Revy (The Free Review)

Stills from The Free Review (two channels digitalized Super8 film), 2015

‘Revy’ is Danish and stems from the word 'revue' which is French for 'review' in English. But Revy/Revue also covers the type of multi-act popular theatrical entertainment that represents past in a parodis/humerous ways. The Free Review echoes an informal conversation between my father and Arne Hardis, the author of the biography 'Otto Melchior - the missing Communist’, about the young communist Otto Melchior (2010). The Free Review is played out in the scenery of a new apartment building in Nordhavn, one Copenhagens old industrial areas which

recently has been gentrified and reinvigorated.
